The Sevant Queen and the King She Serves
This year the nation and Commonwealth celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. Get the book that tells from her perspective how she finds the strength to serve.
The country and Commonwealth are celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. From her actual birthday on 21 April through to the official birthday celebrations from 10-12 June 2016, people are participating in a wide range of events and Patron’s Lunches. It is an amazing opportunity for churches to bring communities together to say thank you: thank you to God for a faithful life well lived, and thank you to the Queen for her unstinting service.
Bible Society, HOPE and LICC, have produced a very special 64-page book The Servant Queen and the King She Serves
. Scripture Union and CPO are providing a range of matching resources to help churches and schools to mark this milestone in the life of the nation. See below to order copies of The Servant Queen
If you're planning a local event advertise with Heart 4 ipswich now and bring your whole community together. Use this opportunity to start conversations about what it means to be a follower of Jesus, and join with the Queen in praying for our communities, as she said in 2012, ‘that his example and teaching will continue to bring people together to give the best of themselves in the service of others’.
In her 2014 Christmas broadcast the Queen said: "For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose birth we celebrate today, is an inspiration and an anchor in my life. A role-model of reconciliation and forgiveness, he stretched out his hands in love, acceptance and healing. Christ’s example has taught me to seek to respect and value all people of whatever faith or none." It is one of the many recent public references the Queen has made to her Christian faith.
The book the Servant Queen and the King She Serves
uses the Queen’s own words to draw out the central role of her trust in Jesus Christ. This stunning book published by Bible Society, HOPE and LICC is designed to be a gift from you and your church to people in your workplace, network and community. It’s a conversation starter. Roy Crowne, HOPE’s executive director says, 'The Queen describes Jesus as 'an anchor' and 'role-model' – as you read this book we hope you will consider how you can put your faith into words."
A gift to give
