Ipswich Christian Calendar Launched

Now you can see up-to-date town-wide events alongside your personal, office or church calendar, anywhere; on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
Not only will you see what’s on you can also avoid arranging a date that clashes with other Christian events in the town.

Importing our Calendar means changes to events will automatically sync to your Google, Outlook, iPhone, Windows or Android calendar so you’re always up-to-date.  It’s easy to do too!

First step: Copy our Heart 4 Ipswich (iCal) Calendar Feed 

1.    Go to the monthly Calendar page: http://heart4ipswich.co.uk/Calendar/Month.aspx 
2.    Click the ICAL button, located above the far right-hand corner of the monthly Calendar.
3.    Copy the URL (In the pop-up window).
4.    It should look like this: http://heart4ipswich.co.uk/Calendar/Calendar.ics?days=150

Note:  You can specify the number of days you require your iCal feed:

eg for a year:  http://heart4ipswich.co.uk/Calendar/Calendar.ics?days=365 

Note:  If you require your iCal feed to be permanent leave off the "?days=xxx"

On Google Calendar

Follow the steps above to copy the Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar Feed URL.

Go to your Google Calendar find Other Calendars (on the left) and click the little arrow facing down to open options. Click Add by URL. Paste your Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar Feed URL, then click Add Calendar.
Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar dates will now show up in your Google Calendar.

Go to the Start ribbon, and click Open Calendar, then choose From the Internet.  Paste your Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar Feed URL (see above). 
Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar dates will now show up in your Outlook Calendar.


On web-based Outlook (www.outlook.com)

In Outlook.com, go to your calendar. Click Import, then Click Subscribe. In the Calendar URL Box, type or copy-and-paste the URL. Enter a name for the calendar and choose a colour. Now click on Subscribe.
If you are getting an error message "This calendar wasn't updated because of a problem with the publisher's file. We'll try updating it again later.", please change the beginning of the URL from https:// to http://


Calendar android phoneOn Your Android or WINDOWS Smartphone

Note: This is best done using a Google account assigned to your Android or Windows device. First complete the instructions above to add the Heart 4 Ipswich Calendar URL feed to your Google Calendar used by your Android or Windows device.

Then go into you Smartphone Windows or android device open the Calendar app, in the settings make sure your Google account is checked, then select 'Sync Now'.

You may need to select the Google account calendar, then under "Other calendars" check the subscribed calendars the Android device is to sync with (by default, the "Other calendars" may not be checked).

Calendar iCal 3On your iOS device (iPhone, iPad)

Once you have copied the Heart 4 Ipswich iCal URL (above), you'll have to add it to your mobile device in the
"Settings" menu in order to automatically track any updates to the calendar. To add a calendar feed to your iOS device, start in the Settings menu.   
Find the menu item labelled "Mail, Contacts and Calendars," and click "Add Account." 
On the list of account types, click "Other" at the bottom, then click "Add Subscribed Calendar"
 Press and hold in the text field to paste in the Heart 4 Ipswich iCal feed URL that you previously copied (or you could just type it in), and click "Next." 
Your device will verify the feed URL and add it to your calendar. Subsequently, new events will automatically populate the Calendar app.
