'Ipswich 4 Family' seeks part-time Administrative Support role
Expanding local charity is now seeking to appoint an administrator to assist the Co-ordinator and the growing team of Volunteers and Link Workers.
Ipswich 4Family is set-up by local churches to assist families to support themselves and find the solutions to the issues that affect them the most. They are seeing a growth in demand for their services.
Recently twelve volunteers completed a twelve hour Family Mentor course, spread across several weeks in January and February,
Jan Baker, Ipswich for Family Coordinator says, "Due to expansion we are now seeking to appoint an administrator to assist the Co-ordinator and the growing team of Volunteers and Link Workers."
"The post will be based at The Orwell Centre, Fore Hamlet, Ipswich and whilst flexible we are seeking between 2 to 6 hours a week initially, however as the project develops this is likely to increase."
"The position will be offerred on a self-employed basis with a competitive hourly rate."
"The post-holder will require excellent administrative, communication, IT and interpersonal skills. In addition, although part of a team they will be required to work independently and on their own initiative. "
Ipswich 4Family is a local organisation set up to assist families to develop their capacity to support themselves and find solutions to the issues that affect them the most.
One of the Mum’s helped by the scheme has said “I don’t know where I would be today if it wasn’t for the help they [Ipswich 4 Family] have given us”.
Dot Cordle, Chair of Ipswich 4 Family says “We are responding to the increasing referrals we are receiving, and we are extremely grateful for all those who are volunteering from churches across the town to be trained up as Family Mentors.”
Jan Baker,explains the way the scheme operates: “We work with families with children aged 0-18 years that are referred to us – of any gender, any background or of any faith or none.”
“A Family Mentor will visit the family in their home for one hour a week to befriend, listen and encourage. Family Mentors are trained and approved to work in this role.
“Family Mentors are supported by a Link Worker who will help families decide a plan to move forward and signpost families to other services or activities in the community that may be appropriate.”
